Beef stir-fried noodles, or “Mì Xào Bò” in Vietnamese, is a flavorful and satisfying dish that combines tender beef, fresh vegetables, and chewy noodles. This dish is quick and easy to make, perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion. In this recipe, we will guide you through the steps to create a mouthwatering plate of beef stir-fried noodles.

Ingredients:

  • 200g beef (sirloin, flank, or ribeye), thinly sliced
  • 200g dried egg noodles
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Fresh cilantro or green onions for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Cook the noodles:
    • Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the dried egg noodles according to the package instructions.
    • Drain the noodles and rinse them under cold water to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  2. Marinate the beef:
    • In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, minced garlic, and black pepper.
    • Mix well to ensure the beef is evenly coated. Set aside to marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Stir-fry the beef and vegetables:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
    • Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until it turns brown. Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.
    • In the same pan, add the sliced onions, bell pepper, and julienned carrot. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened.
  4. Combine the ingredients:
    • Return the cooked beef to the pan with the vegetables.
    • Add the cooked noodles, oyster sauce, fish sauce, remaining soy sauce, and sugar.
    • Stir-fry everything together for another 2-3 minutes, ensuring the noodles are well-coated with the sauce.
  5. Serve:
    • Transfer the beef stir-fried noodles to a serving plate.
    • Garnish with fresh cilantro or green onions for added flavor and presentation.
